"Dare" is Cecelia's last remaining basenji (at least until she takes home one of his babies).  Now 10 years old, he won the senior veteran's class at the 2009 Basenji Club of America National Specialty ( YouTube - Ch D's Up Up N Away of Woz Wins Veteran Class).  As a youngster, he was Winners' Dog at the National.  "Dare" is known for his deep, red coat and his clownish, devil-may-care attitude.

"DeeDee" has a Best in Show (Bred-by-Exhibitor) to her name and finished her championship with her third major at the Ft. Worth KC show (held in conjunction with the Dallas-Ft. Worth Basenji Specialty).  Her sire is multi-specialty winner, multi-national champion, and American Dual Champion, who has won Best of Breed at both Westminster and the Eukanuba National.  She has one brother with two Bests in Field and another who is proving himself as a sire at Kanjara Kennels in Finland.  Her maternal grandsire is a multi-specialty winner, former #1 conformation basenji, who won the National Specialty from the veteran's class in 2008.  Her paternal grandsire is a multi-Best in Show winner.  "DeeDee" loves to sleep with her head on the pillow, and she is known around the house as "DeeDee-roo" because she's one of our biggest baroo-ers.  These pups should have LOTS of personality!

"DeeDee" is "probably clear" of Fanconi syndrome by the new linked marker test.  "Dare" tested "indeterminate"  (which means he is probably either clear or a carrier), as did his daughter, "Jamie", so these puppies should not be at risk for Fanconi syndrome.  All OFA and CERF numbers of previous generations are recorded in the interactive pedigree, and all health information is available on the OFA website.

"Seeker" is the major-pointed son of our lure-coursing great, BOTB, TRC, Int. Ch., FC Dharian's Knight Phanfare, SC, F.Ch., TT ("Big Red"), and comes from a long line of oustanding conformation and performance dogs.  He is very typey, moves well in the ring and in the field, is very responsive...and has a funny and loving personality like his dad.  FLASH!:  Seeker took 1st place in the Open, Black and White, class at the 2009 BCOA National Specialty under breeder/judge Terri Gavaletz!

What with kidney transplants and broken legs (ours--not the dogs!), "Stevie" (our "lady in black") is also major-pointed, but still a bit short of her AKC championship.  She is an awesome runner, and will return to both field and ring after she raises these pups.  She comes from a line of Best in Show, Best in Specialty Show, and sweepstakes winners.

This breeding doubles up on Int. Ch., JU.A. Dharian's Obsidian, JC, TT.  "Sydney" is over one-quarter African and was Best of Opposite Sex in the African Exhibition at the 2002 BCOA National Specialty.

"Stevie" is "probably clear" of Fanconi syndrome by the new linked marker test, as are both of her parents.  So although "Seeker" is "probably carrier", these puppies are not at risk for Fanconi syndrome.  All OFA and CERF numbers are recorded in the interactive pedigree, and all health information is available on the OFA website.
