2008 Litter"Blade" x "Stevie"Born July 18, 2008 1 red boy, 1 tri girl, 3 black girls
"Blade" first caught my eye as a puppy at the 2006 Basenji Club of America National Specialty. He walked into the ring like he owned the place, won that class, and went on to take Best of Winners. Now he is one of the top basenjis in the country, with 3 Best in Show wins. What with kidney transplants and broken legs (ours--not the dogs!), "Stevie" (our "lady in black") is major-pointed, but still a bit short of her AKC championship. She is an awesome runner, and will return to both field and ring after she raises these pups. She comes from a line of Best in Show, Best in Specialty Show, and sweepstakes winners. "Stevie" is "probably clear" of Fanconi syndrome by the new linked marker test, as are both of her parents. So although "Blade" is "probably carrier", these puppies are not at risk for Fanconi syndrome. All OFA and CERF numbers are recorded in the interactive pedigree, and all health information is available on the OFA website.
